STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Riding a four-game winning streak, Mississippi State remained No. 16 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings unveiled Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs (7-2, 3-2 SEC) have won all four of those games by double-digits and scored at least 34 points in all four in the process. They will face No. 2 Alabama Saturday. It will be the fifth ranked team — at time of the meeting — that MSU has faced.
Following the completion of games on Saturday, MSU will be the only ranked team in the nation to play three teams in the current Top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings so far. Two of those came on the road – at No. 1 Georgia and at No. 10 Auburn.
Kickoff for the Bulldogs and Tide is 6 p.m. from a sold-out Davis Wade Stadium. Tickets are only available through MSU’s secondary ticketing partner, StubHub.
State has been ranked in 12 of the 21 College Football Playoff rankings dating back to 2014.
